Volks Mini SuperDollfie Sakura

Originally, I hade absolutely no intention of ever getting a Super Dollfie/Mini Super Dollfie. When I saw their price, all I could think was their price was roughly equivalent to a trip to Japan. But as the months went on, my stance softened, and after selling off quite a bit, I had the money to get a MSD. It was quite some time ago, and there was not as much of a selection. In Japan, I tried to decide between a Sakura kit and the LE Sundy. (My first choice LE Asami was sold out.) In the end, I picked Sakura and chose to have her sanded, strung and painted by Volks.

I had planned to name her Yuzuriha, but somehow it never seemed to work and recently she has been dibbed Jinny. I'm actually rather fond of her, probably as she was my first BJD and because I've actually re-painted her lips myself. The color I've currently given her is not overly natural, but I'll have to experiment at some point to see if I can try another color I might like more. While it's sort of nice to have a doll that is painted exactly how you wanted, there is also something nice abaout being able to experiment.

MSD Sakura with default face-up
Here is Sakura in Volks wig MSD W-87N (not her default wig) in Natural Black. Her outfit is that worn by Kinomoto Sakura in CardCaptor Sakura. I don't know how made it, I bought it as the Studio Alta branch of Tenshi no Sumika in 2002. She still has in her default eyes in these pictures. Personally, I think her lips look a little too orangey right now. Return to Dolls
